  • Things are going pretty good, it's the same old same old but I haven't messed anything up yet.... at least I hope not. My alarm for work didn't go off this morning. I am supposed to work from 8-12 on MWF but I woke up this morning and noticed that the sky was WAY too bright and blue for 6:45... I hate that. So I'm here now, two hours late... nobody's here so maybe I can get away with it. I doubt it will cause any problems.

Speaking of work... it's pretty nice. I was kinda flattered to be offered a position outside of work study, especially since this department doesn't have a WHOLE lot of cash to throw around. My bosses always tell me and others how I am such a wonderful work-study... I guess I just try to be worthy of that... But I also guess that my work is nothing too terribly hard or anything to be too proud of. Also it's pretty interesting to have a co-worker relationship with some of my professors (3 so far).

My classes are all pretty great, I'm really enjoying my schedule. One kind of iffy class is Art which I picked up at the last minute to flesh out my schedule... it's a WHOLE lot of fun but I suspect it will become really hard soon and take up lots of time... besides, I feel REALLY out of place in there, I'm pretty sure Adam and I are the only two non-art majors in that class. All my other classes are coming to me quite naturally.

       6.  A waxing moon
       7.  Fresh snow while it's sunny outside
       8.  Michael's laugh
       9.  A snowy mountain view
      10.  Warm winter days

Now that I've been to all my classes I feel very positive about them... They won't be too hard but I'll still be learning.  Well, one of them might be too hard.  German Cultural Identity.  On Monday I discovered that the class is taught IN GERMAN.  I'm pretty good with understanding what is being discussed, but I'm not sure about taking part in the discussion.  I'll give it a couple more tries but I might be switching to something a little easier until I'm a little better at speaking.  UPDATE:  I dropped it.  I need to be able to achieve my goals, I don't want anything in my way...

I'm excited...  and it's nice to be back.

  • So MTV was just on and I was watching lesbian Next and their date was going to pet a bunch of cats... HAHA

    I prayed today...

And so ends my first day back at school.  So far, so good.

"Nature herself has imprinted on the minds of all the idea of God."

  • I think I have to learn how to better appreciate a good challenge... how to take a hard situation and learn from it and adapt rather than complain and shut down... this applies to my life right now in a number of ways.

I'm thinking more about my goals, and I hate that I'm being impatient with school... It feels like I have so much going on right now when I really have nothing...  I guess I just wish I could get on with my life.  I wish it could just be the two of us somewhere, me working full time and paying my part... I don't know why I want so badly for that right now though, I know it will come soon enough and then it will never end...

    Who knows.  I'm frustrated.

Aeon Flux basically sucked.  I saw it while I was in Florida but this was the first open spot I got...

  • So I got a letter from school today.  It said I get no financial aid anymore because my GPA was abysmal.  I'm not even eligible for work study, so there probably goes my job.  My dad of course freaked out and is threatening not to send me back to school since he "can't afford it."  I really want to prove myself, I need a second chance to do so, but I guess my dad is of the opinion that I don't really deserve one.  I guess I'd have to agree if I were an outside observer.  But being me, I need this chance.  This is the beginning of a new Parker...  and luckily I have people that DO believe in me and are willing to help me right now, so I have regained my composure... and for that, I am very thankful.

So I AM going back to school on Friday, one way or another, no matter what my dad finally decides.  And I AM going to try my hardest again.  I AM going to prove to myself that I'm better than all this, that I'm not a total fuck-up.  God I was a lazyass.

...Until then, skiing!  Maybe this will be a happy new year after all... it will definitely be definitive in either case...

  • Hello 2006!  I like how this year looks.  2006.  I feel like 2005 was just waiting to be 2006 all year... I don't know why...  Maybe, being born in a year ending with 6, I am naturally predispositioned to enjoy years ending in 6 a lot more... we shall see...

I'm going skiing with Danielle and Katie tomorrow night!!  I'm uber excited, because we (family, visiting from Nebraska) tried to go skiing last week and by the time we got up into the mountains it started snowing so hard that we just decided to turn around.  It was a bummer, but now.... YAY!

    • A History of Violence
    • Transamerica
    • The Squid and the Whale
    • King Kong
    • Walk The Line (I guess...)
    • The Upside of Anger (Maybe...)
    • Good Night, And Good Luck (Maybe.)

I'm pretty much ready to go back to school... I'm so bored right now...

  • Merry Christmas!

Well Florida really wasn't warm at all, I found out that 50 degrees really can be cold down there because of the humidity so I won't ever call Mike a pussy for being cold down there ever again.  Dispite being able to see my breath quite frequently (haven't seen it since I've been home), I had a wonderful, almost incident-free trip.  Went to Universal, a couple movies, a couple clubs, and enjoyed a bunch of time with one of the most beautiful, wonderful people probably in the entire world.  Yeah, I really really wouldn't doubt it.  You guys can call this mush, but if you got to know him I know you'd agree.  I doubt you have anyone that hates you do you, Mike?  haha.  I miss him a lot already.

    I'm so lucky.

My dad and sister kinda broke my computer while I was gone.  It sucks.

Don't waste your time on The Dying Gaul.

  • Today's advice: When you go to see Brokeback Mountain (note the when, not if... it's amazingly good... probably my top 10...), bring two boxes of kleenex; one box for cleaning up the intense elongated orgasm that is the first part of the movie, and one box for drying your tears during the last part. Such an awesome movie.

I'm at the aeroport right now... Going to Orlando. I can't wait. Not that I like Orlando really, but I like warm winters and I sure like Michael quite a bit. :D

  • Seems like everyone is upset/disappointed with me lately...

I'm going to Florida on the 19th now instead of on the 12th... I was going to miss my sister's birthday and Beauty and the Beast with my family by going that early... but now it's going to cost $100 to change it (My mom is splitting the cost with me... I love her...) and I get to spend 1 week less with Mike... I guess that's what I get for this retarded mistake though.

Name 5 of life's simple pleasures that you like most, then pick 5 people to do the same. Try to be original and creative and not to use things that someone else has already used. Tag 5 people on your list.

    1. Doing something nice for someone
    2. Feeling the rain on your face
    3. Smiling because there is no reason not to
    4. Springtime
    5. Waking up next to the person you love

HMMMMM.... Your turn:  Nate, Caley, Kaitlin, Libby, Mike (hope they read this...)
