  • Sooo, I don't have a job.  And I hate school.  And I'm renaming my iPod "Scratches McPod" and I really wish we had fall break.

  •  Ugh... I just want to update my freaking iChabod Pod II!  It sucks not having a computer.  Or money.

On that note, though, I have an interview for a job on Tuesday, at...
That's right.  Oh thank heaven.  I have a beautiful friend working there and hopefully another one soon, depending on how his interview today went.  That should be so fun.  Can't you just see me as a convenience store clerk?  I think they made a movie about us.

    Also:  I hate school.

  • "Nomes - Race of small, forest-dwelling men, feared because of their proficiency of the dark arts."

Yeah... pretty sure I bombed that one.  Next exam:  1 hr, 15 mins.  Time to study!

  • So I had another great weekend...  and I don't feel like writing so here's sum bulletz lol.

    • good tunes!  New Beck, new DJ Shadow... but mostly Beck.  It's sooooo delicious.
    • good greens!  New York Sour Diesel.
    • Went to see Cara play at a high school football game in the band with Adam and Max, donno where Ceilidh was but we had fun WITHOUT HER.
    • Saw my grandma and grandpa.
    • Hung out and played old school Smash Bros. with Adam and Max late into the night (made my mom cry about breaking curfew... groan)
    • Helped a bit with yardwork, I love the leaf blower, but I hate being allergic, but I love quitting early. :D
    • Adam's mom bought us SOOOO MUCH SUSHI and Adam didn't even want any so I ate more sushi than I ever have at one time before, and it was SOO GOOD.

Thank god I have Liz in my life.  She called at this point and invited me to go see The Science of Sleep with her and dem, and I was literally jumping around screaming because I had had such high hopes of seeing this movie and thought I wasn't going to be able to.  It was pretty much my favorite movie for a long time.

The fun didn't stop there!  She ALSO invited us to the grand opening all night party at the new Denver Art Museum wing, so after getting kicked out of the Safeway parking lot and being forced to play Bread Ball in the street, we made our way to the museum.  It was amazing.  The new building is beautiful!  We went to a poetry slam for the first couple hours, which was really fun for me because I had never been to one before.  There was some amazing poetry being read, and Jessica was a great judge (we helped her of course)!

There was a DJ, but the dancing crowd was especially lame and small, so we looked at their amazing Japanese and Modern art galleries... ::orgasm::.  I reeeeally want to go back, soon.  We didn't get to see so much before we had to leave at around 4:30.  There's a whole other modern art gallery I didn't even get to see at all!!

Sunday was more Smash Brothers tournament goodness.  I teamed with my roomate Ben and we kicked some butt... after we got warmed up.  We wound up at 3-3, I think that was tied for 3rd/7.  So, not bad.  We beat one of the hardest teams!

  • Holy cow. What a good weekend. I'm sitting at SFO waiting for my flight, and will be for some time.
Got to San Francisco Friday afternoon, met Mike at the airport and we took the BART downtown. Got off at the Powell Street station and was completely amazed. It felt so awesome there, kind of european. Walked to the hotel in awe, met Gregg there. It was a Renaissance, really nice place, right downtown. Went to eat at this really good Indian restaurant, where we met Jake! It was so good to see him, hadn't in years. He said he could sneak me into his club later. But first it was time for the concert! The Scissor Sisters are so fun... Or maybe I was just drunk. Either way it was a great time. Kind of a gay overload. Afterwards we went down to Castro to poke around. That was pretty gay too. Haha. Wasn't allowed in any clubs, so we went to Jake's. It was a really cool place, he's put a lot of work into it he said, which was impressive. Too bad the party sucked and I hate clubbing. We left pretty quickly and went back to the hotel.

Yesterday, went to a good breakfast (pumpkin crépes, yumm), and did a little sightseeing drive past Lombard St. and Alkatraz and over the GG and all that good stuff. It was really fun to see. I did a pretty bad job as navigator, plus there was pretty bad traffic in Oakland, so our drive around the bay took so much longer than it should have. By the time we got to the new hotel (W! Very swank but I hated the architecture and it was in the middle of nowhere. Suite tho, with the suitest bathroom ever, and a ~35in plasma, and a massage chair! And those beds... Mmmm), which was much closer to the festival, it was like 430 and we had missed the first 4 hours. When we actually got there though it was pretty obvious it would have been a bore fest, a bunch of no-name bands we'd never heard of. So it was good we didn't miss anyone we wanted to see. First were the Shins, who were really fun, then we walked around a bit and saw Coheed and Cambria for like one song on the second stage before we got bored of that crap. There was also a 3rd stage where Mutaytor played like all day, they were fun to watch, they had fire dancers and a chinese dragon and stuff, really cool. Next to that was a little garage for bands, kinda cute. Next on the main stage was Muse, who pretty much rocked me, they were so good. Yeah Yeah Yeahs were next and they pretty much bored me to death so I went and watched the end of Mutaytor who were infinitely more entertaining.

Then... Beck. My hopes and dreams and expectations were so high for this one... And I am so happy that they were EXCEEDED. By far the best show ever. They had a marionette band in the middle of the stage that were on the big screens the whole time, that was pretty cool. He played such fun songs and I sang and danced so much. There was this "snakes on a bus" clip with the marionettes, where the band all got eaten, it was so funny! I was crying so hard.
...yeah. Man that was an amazing show. I could totally be a Beck roadie.

Today, just packed up and drove to the airport. Had some sushi. And here I sit.

Yeahp... I love Beck and I love San Francisco.

  • Handwriting Analysis.  Pretty strikingly accurate...

Parker is constantly disappointed when trying to reach success. He works very hard, perhaps harder than most, then just before succeeding, something happens that keeps him from success. Often, Parker changes to a second project just before the first one is finished, thus failing to complete the first project. Sometimes he changes because he feels he needs a different challenge. Parker feels dejected. This feeling relates to his failures. This trait is very important in a working situation and in a relationship. He must be handled in a very special way to get the most work from him or to make a relationship last. Concerning this trait, personality modification is available to change his life.

Parker is sarcastic. This is a defense mechanism designed to protect his ego when he feels hurt. He pokes people harder than he gets poked. These sarcastic remarks can be very funny. They can also be harsh, bitter, and caustic at the same time.

Parker is a practical person whose goals are planned, practical, and down to earth.  This is typical of people with normal healthy self-esteem. He needs to visualize the end of a project before he starts.  he finds joy in anticipation and planning.  Notice that I said he plans everything he is going to do, that doesn't necessarily mean things go as planned.  Parker basically feels good about himself.  He has a positive self-esteem which contributes to his success.  He feels he has the ability to achieve anything he sets his mind to.  However, he sets his goals using practicality-- not too "out of reach".  He has enough self-confidence to leave a bad situation, yet, he will not take great risks, as they relate to his goals.  A good esteem is one key to a happy life.  Although there is room for improvement in the confidence catagery, his self-perception is better than average.

In reference to Parker's mental abilities, he has a very investigating and creating mind. He investigates projects rapidly because he is curious about many things. He gets involved in many projects that seem good at the beginning, but he soon must slow down and look at all the angles. He probably gets too many things going at once. When Parker slows down, then he becomes more creative than before. Since it takes time to be creative, he must slow down to do it. He then decides what projects he has time to finish. Thus he finishes at a slower pace than when he started the project. He has the best of two kinds of minds. One is the quick investigating mind. The other is the creative mind. His mind thinks quick and rapidly in the investigative mode. He can learn quicker, investigate more, and think faster. Parker can then switch into his low gear. When he is in the slower mode, he can be creative, remember longer and stack facts in a logical manner. He is more logical this way and can climb mental mountains with a much better grip.

Parker will be candid and direct when expressing his opinion. He will tell them what he thinks if they ask for it, whether they like it or not. So, if they don't really want his opinion, don't ask for it!

Parker is moderately outgoing. His emotions are stirred by sympathy and heart rendering stories. In fact, he can be kind, friendly, affectionate and considerate of others. He has the ability to put himself into the other person's shoes. Parker will be somewhat moody, with highs and lows. Sometimes he will be happy, the next day he might be sad. He has the unique ability to get along equally well with what psychology calls introverts and extroverts. This is because he is in between. Psychology calls Parker an ambivert. He understands the needs of both types. Although they get along, he will not tolerate anyone that is too "far out." He doesn't sway too far one way or the other. When convincing him to buy a product or an idea, a heart rendering story could mean a great deal to him. He puts himself in the same situation as the person in the story, yet he will not buy anything that seems overly impractical or illogical. Parker is an expressive person. He outwardly shows his emotions. He may even show traces of tears when hearing a sad story. Parker is a "middle-of-the-roader," politically as well as logically. He weighs both sides of an issue, sits on the fence, and then will decide when he finally has to. He basically doesn't relate to any far out ideas and usually won't go to the extreme on any issue.

People that write their letters in an average height and average size are moderate in their ability to interact socially.  According to the data input, Parker doesn't write too large or too small, indicating a balanced ability to be social and interact with others.

  • Yup... I'm 20.  It doesn't feel different of course but the number has too much significance to be ignored, even if nothing "happens" this year.  I decided, therefore, to make things happen, so I am making some changes to myself, to my life.  Kind of like new years resolutions, but I never liked those.  This is kind of... new life resolutions.  Since I'm no longer a teenager, I guess that makes me even more of an adult.  Time to act accordingly.  Included have been things such as:

    • Conscious efforts to curb bad, deeply-ingrained subconsious habits.  This is very difficult, but is extremely good training for your brain, as I'm told.
    • Keeping completely on top of my work.  This, for me, often includes being up an hour before my classes, finishing homework.  Like this lovely Thursday morning.  I always was a last minute person and I'm glad I finally figured out a good way to know I'm gonna get my shit done.
    • Just generally being more responsible.  I've made some mistakes in the past few months that I'm probably gonna be paying for right about now.  I hope they serve to remind me.
    • Be comfortable in my own skin, at all times, around all people.  I used to be really good at this but I don't know what happened in the past couple years.
    • Find out what's happened in the past couple years.  Find out what was good, find out what was bad, find out what works and what doesn't.  This will help me to
    • Figure myself out a little bit more.  This has been interfering with the previous ones.

To do this last one I had to do something very hard... I am now single.  I'm pretty sure I don't like the decision right now but I won't let myself cave in again.  And I'm pretty sure I'm not going into all the reasons on here.

It's been a weird 10 days.  But I'm already making progress.  Not until I am satisfied with my position, and am more stable, can I try to support another person in any way...  It sounds a little selfish but it's really not.

Other than all that, college is awesome so far this year.  I'm having a lot of fun with old and new friends.  My roomates are awesome too, and we hang out a lot.  However I'm feeling the need to get the hell out of the dorms, partially because there are much nicer places to live, and partially because we keep getting busted.  The story of "8-Ball" Hicksy will be saved for another entry.

  • Footprints always make me happy, I love seeing who reads this without leaving comments. For example, looks like Geno has continued to check my blog regularly all these years. HA! Anyone remember him? Also I find anonymous blogs and I can't figure out their identities. WHO ARE YOU!?! Oh... and that Californian stalker is actually just Google and Yahoo searching me. Oh well.

I just got back from World of Coke. Atlantans really love their ice cold refreshing Coke, and Coke has built a monument to itself in its hometown. It was really really lame, basically just a $9 commercial tour. I think I saw about 473, 589 Coke logos and half an hours worth of commercial type films. It was KIND of interesting from an historical standpoint... for like 5 minutes. Luckily it only lasted about another 5 or 10 before you get to the good part... where you get to DRINK and sample their wares. Good thing I don't drink Coke. I did however try some of their products from around the world. I seriously need to expat because some of them were really good. I guess that part was KINDA fun. Totally not worth $9 though.

Watch the movie Sweet Sixteen if you like a good coming of age/crime/drug movie. It's pretty powerful.
