  • Speaking of Scratches, the computer I was updating it on decided to delete 2000 of my songs today.  Great!  Then it wouldn’t let me log back on to check which ones.  Now I’ll probably never know.

  • Sooo, I don’t have a job.  And I hate school.  And I’m renaming my iPod “Scratches McPod” and I really wish we had fall break.

  •  Ugh… I just want to update my freaking iChabod Pod II!  It sucks not having a computer.  Or money.

On that note, though, I have an interview for a job on Tuesday, at…
That’s right.  Oh thank heaven.  I have a beautiful friend working there and hopefully another one soon, depending on how his interview today went.  That should be so fun.  Can’t you just see me as a convenience store clerk?  I think they made a movie about us.

    Also:  I hate school.

  • “Nomes - Race of small, forest-dwelling men, feared because of their proficiency of the dark arts.”

Yeah… pretty sure I bombed that one.  Next exam:  1 hr, 15 mins.  Time to study!

  • So I had another great weekend…  and I don’t feel like writing so here’s sum bulletz lol.

    • good tunes!  New Beck, new DJ Shadow… but mostly Beck.  It’s sooooo delicious.
    • good greens!  New York Sour Diesel.
    • Went to see Cara play at a high school football game in the band with Adam and Max, donno where Ceilidh was but we had fun WITHOUT HER.
    • Saw my grandma and grandpa.
    • Hung out and played old school Smash Bros. with Adam and Max late into the night (made my mom cry about breaking curfew… groan)
    • Helped a bit with yardwork, I love the leaf blower, but I hate being allergic, but I love quitting early. :D
    • Adam’s mom bought us SOOOO MUCH SUSHI and Adam didn’t even want any so I ate more sushi than I ever have at one time before, and it was SOO GOOD.

Thank god I have Liz in my life.  She called at this point and invited me to go see The Science of Sleep with her and dem, and I was literally jumping around screaming because I had had such high hopes of seeing this movie and thought I wasn’t going to be able to.  It was pretty much my favorite movie for a long time.

The fun didn’t stop there!  She ALSO invited us to the grand opening all night party at the new Denver Art Museum wing, so after getting kicked out of the Safeway parking lot and being forced to play Bread Ball in the street, we made our way to the museum.  It was amazing.  The new building is beautiful!  We went to a poetry slam for the first couple hours, which was really fun for me because I had never been to one before.  There was some amazing poetry being read, and Jessica was a great judge (we helped her of course)!

There was a DJ, but the dancing crowd was especially lame and small, so we looked at their amazing Japanese and Modern art galleries… ::orgasm::.  I reeeeally want to go back, soon.  We didn’t get to see so much before we had to leave at around 4:30.  There’s a whole other modern art gallery I didn’t even get to see at all!!

Sunday was more Smash Brothers tournament goodness.  I teamed with my roomate Ben and we kicked some butt… after we got warmed up.  We wound up at 3-3, I think that was tied for 3rd/7.  So, not bad.  We beat one of the hardest teams!

  • Holy cow. What a good weekend. I’m sitting at SFO waiting for my flight, and will be for some time.
Got to San Francisco Friday afternoon, met Mike at the airport and we took the BART downtown. Got off at the Powell Street station and was completely amazed. It felt so awesome there, kind of european. Walked to the hotel in awe, met Gregg there. It was a Renaissance, really nice place, right downtown. Went to eat at this really good Indian restaurant, where we met Jake! It was so good to see him, hadn’t in years. He said he could sneak me into his club later. But first it was time for the concert! The Scissor Sisters are so fun… Or maybe I was just drunk. Either way it was a great time. Kind of a gay overload. Afterwards we went down to Castro to poke around. That was pretty gay too. Haha. Wasn’t allowed in any clubs, so we went to Jake’s. It was a really cool place, he’s put a lot of work into it he said, which was impressive. Too bad the party sucked and I hate clubbing. We left pretty quickly and went back to the hotel.

Yesterday, went to a good breakfast (pumpkin crépes, yumm), and did a little sightseeing drive past Lombard St. and Alkatraz and over the GG and all that good stuff. It was really fun to see. I did a pretty bad job as navigator, plus there was pretty bad traffic in Oakland, so our drive around the bay took so much longer than it should have. By the time we got to the new hotel (W! Very swank but I hated the architecture and it was in the middle of nowhere. Suite tho, with the suitest bathroom ever, and a ~35in plasma, and a massage chair! And those beds… Mmmm), which was much closer to the festival, it was like 430 and we had missed the first 4 hours. When we actually got there though it was pretty obvious it would have been a bore fest, a bunch of no-name bands we’d never heard of. So it was good we didn’t miss anyone we wanted to see. First were the Shins, who were really fun, then we walked around a bit and saw Coheed and Cambria for like one song on the second stage before we got bored of that crap. There was also a 3rd stage where Mutaytor played like all day, they were fun to watch, they had fire dancers and a chinese dragon and stuff, really cool. Next to that was a little garage for bands, kinda cute. Next on the main stage was Muse, who pretty much rocked me, they were so good. Yeah Yeah Yeahs were next and they pretty much bored me to death so I went and watched the end of Mutaytor who were infinitely more entertaining.

Then… Beck. My hopes and dreams and expectations were so high for this one… And I am so happy that they were EXCEEDED. By far the best show ever. They had a marionette band in the middle of the stage that were on the big screens the whole time, that was pretty cool. He played such fun songs and I sang and danced so much. There was this “snakes on a bus” clip with the marionettes, where the band all got eaten, it was so funny! I was crying so hard.
…yeah. Man that was an amazing show. I could totally be a Beck roadie.

Today, just packed up and drove to the airport. Had some sushi. And here I sit.

Yeahp… I love Beck and I love San Francisco.
