  • Colorado is cool.  Literally and figuratively.  It's weird though, I thought I would be much more excited to be home, but I actually kind of miss Atlanta.  Even if I only know like 5 people there, and 4 of them only at work and not that well.  I have no friends down there except for my "husband."  I don't do a whole lot outside of work.  And yet I miss it.  I don't know why.

Cashed my checks and I am about $900 richer.  I spent a bit of it on some nice glass and lunch for friends.  I'm havin good times.  This trip is absurdly short and rushed though.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder.  My heart is very fond.  I started to write a blurb about how blessed I feel but it didn't make any sense so I'll just write a little note...  Mike, thanks for being your amazing self... I feel so lucky to be what I am to you, to know you so well and to aid you however I can.  I love everything about you, every bit of you.  I love being with you and I like where we're going.  I donno what is stirring up these strong feelings at THIS particular time, but just thank you for making me so happy.

  • Went to the High Museum of Art today, it was pretty cool. Another Richard Meyer building, and it looks just like the Getty. Beautiful. I loved the modern art collection... though it was a bit small. I'll have to go back because I didn't spend a WHOLE lot of time there.

Good ol' Nick's latest blog about heaven and such has got me thinking... If I DO believe in a heaven (not sure about hell really), and I'm NOT buying into what "they" say about who gets in and who doesn't, then who DO I believe gets in?
I guess I think that God has blessed us with a great gift, the gift of life. I don't think there are many greater gifts that can be given. I believe that those who cherish life, love living it, use it to its fullest, and for good and not evil, are the ones that would get into heaven. I really don't think God would deny someone Paradise for adhering to that.

Can I just say that I love the new "footprints" feature on Xanga? Nice to have a built in hitcounter, though it is a bit disconcerting to see who visits your site and when. For example, apparently I have a stalker in California who checks my blog at least 3 or 4 times a day. Also I can find out when my Grandma or Mike's friends are reading all this. Fun to find out. Haha.

  • Went downtown to watch fireworks last night and was met as I got out of the train station by torrential rains.  A bunch of people huddled in the shelter by the escalators down to the subway.  I like humanity at these times, when everyone is thinking the same thing.  You can smile at anyone standing there and they know what you're smiling to them about and they smile back and you laugh.  Didn't get to see any fireworks, but that was fun enough.

Can't wait to see Mike... then I can't wait to see my friends...

I've been finding a lot of great music lately.  Gnarls Barkley, new Pharrell, Arctic Monkeys (who Mike loved and took me to their concert), Corrinne Bailey Rae, new Nelly Furtado, Madvillain, new RHCP, and A-town hip hop are keeping me  snapping my fingers and doing my step.  I can do it all by myself!  Let me see YOU do it.  HEY!

P.S. I can give a band a "fair shot" until I see them wearing makeup and tuxedoes in their video.

  • Yup... I am alone in the ATL.  It's kinda weird.  Mike is gone to Cananada to see his grandma and so I am left here to my own devices.  Should be interesting... or probably the exact opposite.

The Devil Wears Prada > Superman Returns.   >>>>>>>.  I loved it SOOO much.  Is that gay..?

Work is good.  I informed my boss yesterday about some things about the restaurant that were frustrating me and she seemed to actually care.  Hopefully they can get it all back on track.  I love working at the W but I don't know about working at THE absolute worst W of them all.  This is not primarily MY opinion.

I'm coming home on the 10th very late in the night.  I leave for Texas on the 14th I think.  There are many days in between.  Make plans.
