  • Kinda funny and depressing…

I HATE Full Screen formatting!  If you know me well, you know I’m pretty dang anal about my DVD collection consisting of 100% Widescreen formatted movies.  My aunt got me Star Wars 3 for Christmas and I haven’t opened it yet because I’m going to have to go to Wal-Mart to exchange it for the Widescreen version.  I’ve always likened Full Screen to someone chopping off the sides of the Mona Lisa so she’d fit in the owner’s frame.  It destroys the artist’s original vision.  You aren’t supposed to mess with that.

    Well, I just found this:

“At some point after Leonardo’s death the painting was cut down by having part of the panel at both sides removed. Originally there were two columns on either side of the figure, as we know from early copies. The edges of the bases can still be seen.”

Haha, OH MY GOD.  People are SO RETARDED.  Looks like the full-screen idiots have been around a lot longer than televisions.  Haha.

  • I never thought of it like that…. Good point…

  • I’m pretty sure WalMart doesn’t carry widescreen verions. Or at least they rarely do. This was last year, by the way, so maybe it’s changed At least the one in Greeley, that’s what we found (well.. the bigger one in Greeley on 10th street, so chances are the other doesn’t have it, either).
