Just saw it again. Updated impressions:
- The production was amazing. The costumes were the best yet, they looked like clothes witches and wizards would actually wear. The special effects were flawless. From the dragons to Hogwarts and the landscapes (my favorite Hogwarts vision), everything was captivatingly realistic yet beautifully fantastic. Filmed very well, and set to a masterfully orchestrated score. Set up so well.
- The screenplay was actually really good too. The things it left out really were subplottish. The things it left in, it nailed. We got what was important, we got a little more, and we got it all really good. Neville's role was excellent... can't wait for more. Only disappointment was the World Cup... I guess it worked though.
- edit: OH WAIT, thank you for reminding me Caley and Katy... No veela. That was sad too. No Crouch explanation too.
- The actors were better than I originally gave them credit for. I noticed a few more things in certain performances that impressed me. The kids are all doing better... Rupert Grint still sucks though. The adults were, without exception, quite perfect. I enjoy Gambon's Dumbledore more every time I see it. It's just a little shocking and jarring. You'll get used to it. He's eccentric. And Voldemort... soo good.
- Uhm, what was up with Voldie's wand? Why was it a bone? Are wands even like that? How does that bone contain the sister tailfeather to Harry's wand? Does anyone know what kind of wand Voldemort is really supposed to have?
- Cho Chang is hot.
And yeah... it's really good. 9.85

didn't it say something in the first or second book exactly what kind of wand Voldemort had? Or did I imagine that.
The special effects were so marvelous I could have cried... just about the special effects. Voldemort (before the whole return thing) looked exactly how I pictured him- a fetus with more developed arms and legs. EXACTLY how I pictured him.
My main dissapointment with things they left out in the plot was how Barty Crouch escaped from Azkaban. And I was a bit dissapointed they left out the house elves but that wasn't too bad.
And they never said anything about Veela. About Fleur being one. I guess that wasn't too big but it explains Ron's infatuation with her.
I was annoyed by the bone wand, as well, but I suppose if Hagrid's umbrella can contain his wand, Voldemort can put his in a bone... or something.
I agree with the person above me- I was quite disappointed that they left out the whole Barty Crouch story. How Mr. Crouch Sr. let him out of Azkaban, how his mother died for him... the whole "Madness of Mr. Crouch" chapter & him Stunning Krum.
I was bummed about the lack of World Cup action, as well... and I thought the way they did the Death Eater scene at the beginning was confusing & somewhat difficult to understand.
That said, it was an awesome movie. I think the actors really are good. And I don't think Rupert Grint sucks! If anyone sucks, I think it's probably Emma Watson, but I like her so I'll let it slide. Ralph Fiennes was amazing as Voldemort. Seriously. Fabulous.
I also wanted to see some veela!
Grint isn't so bad. I liked how he carried the bit when he and Harry were having their argument.
As for the bone? You got me.
I agree with Katy about Emma Watson. She doesn't suck, she just overacted a bit in this movie. It's like her eyebrows morphed with every syllable she spoke. Bit annoying.
I'm seeing it again Weds. With me dad. Heh. I'm a geek. I really liked the movie.
Well Hagrid had his wand inside of an umbrella. I am sure Voldy could get one in a bone.
